Breaux Bridge - A Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 17, 2008, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Rodney J. Theriot, 57, who passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Heartland Hospice in Georgia. Internment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Rev. Edward Degeyter will officiate and conduct funeral service. Mr. Theriot was a fantastic Cajun cook and enjoyed woodworking. Rodney made you laugh when you were at your lowest and that alone was the reason his friends and co-workers respected and loved him unconditionally. He was a kind and patient man and was a loving and devoted husband, father, step-father, brother, grandfather, uncle and son. Mr. Theriot is preceded in death by his father, Preston Joseph Theriot; his son, Ryan Theriot; his grandson, Alex and a brother-in-law, Harold Terrell. Survivors include his wife, Catherine (Cathy) H. Theriot of Covington,GA; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Harry Marto of Metairie, LA; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie Paul Theriot and Amanda of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter-in-law, Laura Theriot, of Scott, LA: step-sons and daughter-in-law, Zach and Jennifer Braden of Oxford, GA., Josh Braden of Athens, GA.; grandchildren, Chase Theriot, Brittany Marto, Andrew Marto, Ashton Davenport; mother, Enola G. Theriot of Breaux Bridge, LA; sisters and brother-in-law, Rita and Lenny Malorin of Breaux Bridge, LA, Gloria Terrell of Carencro, LA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Preston John ""Tiger"" and Nell Theriot of Parks, LA, Ray ""T-Ray"" and Phyllis Theriot of Breaux Bridge, LA. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, May 17, 2008, at 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mr. Rodney J. Theriot to Hospice of Acadiana, 2300 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA. 70503. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
