Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Roger ""Bud"" Mouisset, 74, who passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge. Roger is a native of Breaux Bridge, born in 1932, he was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the US Air Force from 1949 - 1953. ?While in the Air Force, he was stationed in Okinawa as a Bombardier cameraman. ? Roger worked for many years in the Fire and Safety Field serving the regional Oil and Petroleum Chemical Industry. ?He has worked for Safety and Fire companies heading their Safety and Training programs. ???Shortly before his retirement developed and documented the service performance training program for Total Safety Inc. ?He was well respected for his dedication to performance excellence and vast knowledge of fire fighting methods and equipment. ?He belonged to the North American Hunting Club, the American Simmental Association, the Society of Fire Protection Engineers and the American Society of Safety Engineers. He was recognized for passing a good time and his passion for spending time with family and friends. ?Roger was an avid chef and spent many a weekends traveling and cooking for everyone. ?He was a regular icon at the yearly Hummer Happening and was honorary chef. ?Roger was also very passionate about hunting and enjoyed many winter days waiting patiently for a deer. What a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. ?He was our hero, our best friend and a great role model with an enthusiastic spirit for life. ?He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Gloria Byrd Mouisset of 51 years. His children Debra Mokhtari, Martin & Jennifer Mouisset, Denise & Dwayne Myrick, Donna & Steve Menard and James and Claudette Mouisset, grandchildren, Larry, Morrison, Regina, Sarah, Martine, Travis, Michael, Cody, Victoria, Beau, Giles, Tyler, and great grandchildren, Jole?, Kelsey, Blake and Kaylee. ?He is also survived by his four brothers and sisters, Laura Huval, Tommy & Diane Mouisset, Robert & Vee Mouisset and Voorhies Jr. & Rena Mouisset. He was preceded in death by his parents, Voorhies and Onite Guidry Mouisset, Sr.; and one grandchild, Ty Menard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5:00 p.m. ~ 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be his two sons, Martin and James Mouisset, Dwayne Myrick, Steve Menard, Bob Mouisset and Randy Racca. Honorary pallbearers will be Travis, Giles and Tyler Mouisset, Cody Menard, Larry Landry, Jr., Thomas Mouisset, and Voorhies Mouisset, Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
