St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church for Rogers "Roge" J. Trahan, 79, who passed away on Friday, February 1, 2019. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm on Monday and continue on Tuesday at 7:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Kristen Trahan and Cassie Trahan. Gift bearers will be Tobi Lynn Granger, Brailey Gachassin and Jazmine Dore. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Rogers, also known as "Roge" was born in St. Martinville to the late Dudley and Nolie Broussard Trahan. He honorably served our country in the United States Army as a part of the Military Police Corps. Roge was a security guard at USL before becoming a Louisiana State Trooper for Troop I and Troop C for 15 years. He was a self-employed small business owner of Trahan Garbage and Trahan Grocery Store for many years. He also worked for Hadley Pest Control until his retirement. Roge enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, and taking care of his property. He also enjoyed watching sports, bowling, dancing, playing cards, and taking care of animals. Roge was always around to care or lend a helping hand to anyone who needed and loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving spouse of 30 years, Audrey Desormeaux Trahan; son, Scot Trahan and wife Charisse of St. Martinville; daughters, Donna Trahan, and Kim Granger and husband Toby all of St. Martinville; step daughters, Debbie Comeaux and spouse Russell of New Iberia, and Sheryl Abney and spouse Donald of Easley, SC; step son, Danny Bodin, Jr. and spouse Sandy of Youngsville; sister, Beverly Trahan Clark of St. Martinville; grandchildren, Carly Trahan, Cassie Trahan, Kristen Trahan, Ashli Gachassin, Brailey Gahassin, Zachary Granger, and Tobi Lynn Granger; 8 step grandchildren; one great grandchild, Adley Marie Bourque; 19 step great grandchildren; and nephews, Billy Rogers Clark and spouse Allison of Las Cruces, NM, and Michael Dale Clark and spouse Catherine of Padre Island, TX. He was preceded in death by his father, Dudley Trahan; mother, Nolie Broussard Trahan; grandchild, Cass Granger; step son, Kenny Bodin; and step daughter, Cyndi Bodin Romero. Pallbearers will be Scot Trahan, Danny Bodin Jr., Billy Clark, Michael Clark, Tommy Ronsonet, and Beau Guillot. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Granger and BK Sullivan.
