New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at St. Marcellus Catholic Church in Rynella for Roland James Duhon, 60, who passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at his home in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia.
Rev. James Nguyen will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Pellerin Funeral Home 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, and will continue on Wednesday from 9:00 am until 12:15 pm.
A rosary led by Deacon Durk Viator will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Tuesday.
A native of Franklin, Roland James Duhon was born on May 23, 1960 to the late Joseph Duhon, Sr. and Juanita Picard Duhon. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Mr. Duhon loved hunting, fishing, cooking, wearing his cowboy hat and playing guitar, but what he cherished most was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Roland is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Wanda Louviere Duhon; daughters, Teisha Peek (Steven Peek, Sr.), and Tiffany Duhon (fiance, Danny Andras, Jr.) Duhon; siblings, Diane Champagne, Juanita Ransonet, Lisa (Frank) Latiolais, Joseph Duhon, Jr., and Mark Duhon, all of New Iberia; sister-in-law, Tammy Duhon of Youngsville; grandchildren, Chelsie Duhon (Jacob) Watson, Tyler (fiancee, Blair Benoit) Broussard, Steven Peek, Jr., Maddie Callahan, and Averie Andras; and great-grandchildren, Everly Peek, Adeline Watson, and Kinzley Watson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Duhon.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Broussard, Steven Peek, Jr., Steven Peek, Sr., Danny Andras, Jacob Watson, Mark Duhon, Frank Latiolais, and Seth Touchet.
