New Iberia - Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Romnie Anthony Leleux, 55, who passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019, in New Iberia.
Entombment will be at a later date at Lake Lawn Park Cemetery in New Orleans.
Deacon Robert Klingman will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm Thursday. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm Thursday.
A resident of New Iberia and a former 20 year resident of New Orleans, Romnie Anthony Leleux was born on November 4, 1963 to Betty Trahan Leleux, and the late Ronald Leleux. He was a graduate of New Iberia Senior High. Romnie loved antiques, Mardi Gras season, visits home, meeting people, music, commercials, New Orleans’ history, boudin, cracklins, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Coors Light, plants, and making people laugh. He will be deeply missed.
Romnie is survived by his mother, Betty Trahan Leleux; brother, Ralph Leleux and wife Marla; sisters, Bessie Leleux LeBlanc and husband Brian, and Belinda Leleux LeBlanc and husband Kim; nephews, Trent Leleux and spouse Tiffany, Rodney Leleux and spouse Kim, Randy Leleux and longtime girlfriend, Michelle Flores, Drew LeBlanc, Brandon LeBlanc; nieces, Tori LeBlanc, and Jaci LeBlanc; great nephew, Tre' Leleux; a great niece, Gabriella Leleux; and his dear friend and neighbor, MB.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his partner, James "Wally" McLaughlin, Jr.; a brother, Rodney Paul Leleux; and his grandparents, Eva and Wilbur Leleux, and Agnes and Wallace Trahan, Sr.
