Ronald C. Broussard

New Iberia – Funeral services will be held for Ronald C. Broussard, 71, who passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Ronald was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend to many. His fearless battle against cancer depicted his strength and perseverance, achieving his ultimate triumph, ascending into heaven.

Ronnie was born on February 11, 1953, to the late Donald and Donna “Tena” Junta Broussard. He was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia. He was a 1971 graduate of New Iberia Senior High and a veteran of the United States National Guard. Following in his family’s footsteps, Ronnie was a lifelong cattle (dairy and beef) farmer. In addition to farming, he also drove a school bus for the Iberia Parish School Board until his retirement. Ronnie was a member of the Louisiana Farm Bureau Board, Louisiana Cattleman’s Association, Krewe of Andalusia, Krewe of Iberians and was a previous mentor with the Boy Scouts, Troop #17.

Ronnie took great pleasure in hunting and fishing; however, his most cherished role in life, was being a grandfather to his many grandchildren. Ronnie enjoyed spending time giving them tractor rides around the farm, having dance offs and passing along his love of hunting and fishing to the next generation.

Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love and faith cherished by his wife of 50 years, Charlene Breaux Broussard; children, Gregory Broussard (Caruai), Amy Broussard-Petry (Jerod), Mitchell Broussard (Roxann), and April Broussard; grandchildren, Gracie Petry, Addison Petry, Sadie Petry, Vincent Petry, Ashton Alleman, Mason Broussard, Ahnie Broussard, Michael Broussard, and Joseph Broussard; sister, Bonnie Robin (David); best friend/cousin, Lisa Mcgee; and his granddogs, “Kuki” and “Peanut Butter”.

Pallbearers will be David Labiche, Micheal Borel, Christopher Robin, Jimmy Shea, Ray Landry, Jerry Courville, Mitch Broussard, & Gregory Broussard.

Visitation will be Friday, July 19, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home, and will continue Saturday, from 7:00 am until 9:30 am. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm Friday.
