Ronald was born on September 24, 1945, in New Orleans. Ronnie's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with the threads of adventure, friendship, and unwavering laughter. He had a passion for the great outdoors, particularly the thrill of hunting. His spirit soared while trekking through the diverse landscapes of New Mexico, Africa, Canada, Alabama, and Mississippi, immersing himself in the beauty of nature and forming lasting memories with each adventure.

At the heart of Ronnie's life was his beloved farm, affectionately named Paradise. It was here, surrounded by the animals he treasured, that Ronnie found immense joy and peace. His days were often filled with the simple yet fulfilling pleasures of picking pecans and tending to his land, embracing the tranquility that only nature can offer.

Ronnie was not just a hunter; he was a devoted friend who cultivated relationships through his travels and work (which he had 30 years with his printing company Attaka Pas). He had an uncanny ability to make people smile, always ready with a joke that brightened the gloomiest of days. His humor was as infectious as his warmth, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.

After retirement, Ronnie continued to share his light with the community by working at Mr. Bees carwash, where his friendly disposition and cheerful banter brought a sense of joy to everyone who crossed his path. Each interaction was a testament to his genuine love for people and life itself.

Ronnie also cherished a memorable trip to Guatemala, adding yet another chapter to his adventurous narrative, which was filled with inspiration and discovery. His life was enriched by experiences, friendships, and laughter, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Louella Theriot Champagne; sons, Wayne Champagne (Genee) and Paul Champagne (Vickie); daughters, Shelly Poche (Chet) and Amie Bulliard (Brett); sisters, Beverly C. Onebane (Frank) and Betty Andries (Floyd "Skip"); grandchildren, Kayli Champagne, Hunter Champagne, Ethan Poche (Lizzie), McKenzie Blanchard (Carson), Brielle Poche, Madeline Champagne and Matthew Bulliard; great-grandchildren, Emmerson Huval, Austen Huval and their father Bryan Huval, Nathan Poche, Wesley Poche and Jude Blanchard; his fur baby, Watson; and a host of rabbits, cats and chickens.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Weston and Merida Babin Champagne; brother, Irving Champagne; granddaughter, Ainsley Bulliard; brother-in-law, Jimmy Blanchard; and his in-laws, Willis and Rita Theriot.
