Ronald Francis

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Notre Dame Catholic Church honoring the life of Ronald "Chief" Francis, 63, who passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in Lafayette.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. It will continue on Saturday at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until the time of Mass at 10:00 am.

A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Friday evening.

Father Gabriel will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery.

He is survived by his sons, Deontae Bonhomme, Sr. (Darilyn), Donervon Bonhomme (Crystal) and Christopher Joseph (Pandora); daughter, Christina Joseph; brothers, Benjamin Francis, Jr. (Ginger), Lennis P. Francis (Yolanda), Jason Francis (Gail) and Crenel Francis (Michelle); sisters, Vernell Johnson (Jeffery), Hilda Rose Hardy (Harold) and Perinella Fruge' (Stephen); grandchildren, Dantrelle, Deontae, Jr., Da'Shanta, Da'Vina, Da'Von, D'Haven, Jodie, Christian, Paris, Connor, Paizley, Cadin and Caci; and great-grandchildren, Dhaven, Jr., Dream, Ka'son, A'amaz and Amour'a.

He is preceded in death by his son, James Ray Francis; parents, Benjamin Francis, Sr. and Verdell Francis; brother, Hayward Francis; niece, Zoe Francis; maternal grandparents, Colbert and Lavina Ledet Wiltz; and paternal grandparents, Frank Francis and Alexandria Turpeau Francis.

Pallbearers will be D'Haven Bonhomme, Deontae Bonhomme, Jr., Da'Von Bonhomme, Christian Joseph, Cadin Joseph, Anthony Brown and Connor Joseph.

Honorary pallbearers will be Benjamin Francis, Jr., Lennis Francis, Jason Francis, Crenel Francis, Jeffery Johnson, Harold Hardy, Stephen Fruge', Edmond Joseph, Linton Jones, Steve Landry and Alvin Dale Guillory.
