Ronald "Ronnie" Joseph Thibodeaux

St. Martinville- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church honoring the life of Ronald "Ronnie" Thibodeaux, 83, who passed away on November 1, 2024.

A visitation will take place at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Monday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until service time.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Monday by Deacon Butch Hebert.

Rev. John Joseph will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Ronald (Ronnie) Thibodeaux, aged 83, passed away peacefully at his home in St. Martinville on the evening of November 1, 2024. A vibrant and colorful personality, Ronnie was known for his love of storytelling and his infectious joy that brightened the lives of those around him.  

A proud gardener, Ronnie took great pleasure in nurturing his vegetables, especially his okra which he gave away freely. His passion for sports, particularly New Orleans Saints football, was a significant part of his life, often shared with family and friends during lively game days. Ronnie dedicated many years to coaching pee wee football and serving as a scout leader and youth group leader, where he inspired countless young people with his enthusiasm and guidance. He was also a devoted member of the St Martin de Tours Adoration chapel and men's Bible study at the Community of Jesus Crucified. He was also a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, actively participating in community service and fellowship. 

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; his daughters Tammy (and husband Clyde Lasseigne) and Coni; and his son Scott. He is also remembered for his late son Rowdy, who passed away years ago but will be reunited with him in heaven. Ronnie took immense pride in his four granddaughters, Jade Lasseigne-Sullivan, Britni Lasseigne-Hamilton, Amber Boulanger, Demi Thibodeaux-Colon and nine great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.

Coming from a large and loving family, Ronnie's bonds with relatives were strong and enduring. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Thibodeaux and Zulmae Peltier. Also, by his brothers; Russel, Roland, Chickley, Walter (Brother) and his sisters, Lillian Druilhet, Helen Hebert, Sadie Duplantis, and Lenora Thevenet. 

He will be fondly remembered by many as Uncle Ronnie, and his joyous spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
