Ronald Rebouche

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11 a .m. , on Saturday, October 1, 2011 , at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Cecilia, for Ronald Paul Rebouche, 61, of Baton Rouge , who passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at The Carpenter House in Baton Rouge . Fr. Edward Grice will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lafayette . Ronald was a veteran of the Vietnam War having honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the 3rd Squadron, 5th Armored Calvary, which was initially the divisional ground reconnaissance squadron of the 9th Infantry Division in Vietnam . Upon his return from the war, he obtained his degree from University of Southwestern Louisiana , now University of Louisiana - Lafayette , in Geography in 1976, and was retired as an environmental specialist with the Department of Environmental Quality. Ronald, who was known by everyone to be a humanitarian, an avid chess player and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, most especially with his parents, sister, daughter, and his precious granddaughter. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Doucet and her husband, Toby, of Cecilia; his father, Nolan Rebouche of Sunset; one sister, Paula Prejean of Scott; and his granddaughter, Janie Doucet. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Ponthier Rebouche; and his nephew, Todd Prejean. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral in Cecilia home from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and continue on Saturday at 8 a .m. until time of service. Pallbearers will be Toby Doucet, Miles Calais, Cedric Rabalais, and John Gross.
