Broussard - Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on, Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at Our Savior's Church, 655 Highway 96, Broussard, LA 70518, for Ronald A. Tardo, 61, who died Friday, May 5, 2006 at Ville Platte Medical Center. Ron was a typical New Orleanean; he was in love with the culture, heartbeat and heritage of his birthplace city. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, attended the University of New Orleans, and was a graduate of the University of Colorado, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. He was a registered nurse at Ville Platte Medical Center and an Oil Scout for Meridian Oil Resources. He was a compassionate and nurturing nurse. He enjoyed playing guitar and outdoor activities such as, biking and hiking. Ron was most content at home surrounded by his "boys", Ernie and Lucky and his rescued repertoire of cats. He was loved by all and loved all who knew him. "Ron, our time with you was too short, but treasured and celebrated. Our priceless, coveted memories of you will live in our hearts and souls forever. You will be loved and missed dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing you". Survivors include his wife, Suzette Tardo of Lafayette; his stepsons, Jordan Simon and Nicholas Simon, both of Lafayette; and his sister, Barbara Tardo of Folsom. He was preceded in death by his father, Carlo A. Tardo, Sr.; his mother, Emily Berenbrink Tardo; and his brother, Carlo Tardo, Jr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Our Savior's Church in Broussard from 12 Noon on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 and continue until time of service. Pallbearers will be Don Ponseti, Gene Alessi, Mike Snapp, Herman Burns, Mike Gauthier, and Drew Villarreal. The Tardo family would like to thank the Ville Platte Medical Center, especially co-workers and family of the ICU Staff, Dr. Greg Ardoin and Dr. Chuck Aswell. Also, very special thanks to Cassie O'Neal, Kevin Jordan, Mike Snapp, Louisiana Oil Scout Assoc., and all his oil scout colleagues who assisted him, and also to Charlotte Berniard, Tatty Ortego, and Tara Higginbotham who were invaluable to us during this difficult time.
