Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Rondell Jermaine Journet, 3, who passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, at Women's & Children's Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read Tamika Journet Gordon and Kiland Carmouche. Gift Bearers will Nevaeh Garrick and Ky'len Prejean, Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. Rondell was a very happy child and loved hugs. He would greet just about everyone with open arms and gave them his special hug. He enjoyed playing football, basketball, going to the horse races, and to the park, even if it was raining. One thing he truly enjoyed was being tickled by his grandfather. A very close friend of the family, who was just ordained, said this about Rondell, "He's a 3-year old with the knowledge of a 30-year old." Rondell could hold a conversation with anyone of almost any age. He will be remembered for his smile that made you want to love everyone in this world. He is survived by his mother, Rhonda/Jassmaine Journet of Arnaudville; his father Courtney Jefferson of Lafayette; sister, Rondaisha Journet of Arnaudville; maternal grandmother, Brenda Journet of Arnaudville; maternal grandfather, Willie Carmouche of Arnaudville; and paternal grandmother, Linda Jefferson Harris of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert Jefferson; uncle, Ryan Jefferson; and cousin, Scott Wilson Thomas. Pallbearers will be Ulysus Journet, Damien Noel, Derrick Frederick, and Jeremy Carmouche. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
