Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia for Roosevelt James Noel, Sr., 80, who passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 10:30 am on Saturday .
Fr. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Gift Bearers will be Brenda Montgomery and Erica Cleary. Musical selections will be provided by Renella Amos.
Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia.
Roosevelt worked for the St. Martin Police Jury for 25 years before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He liked to zydeco dance and have family gatherings. Roosevelt will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sons, Roosevelt J. Noel, Jr. and wife Beverly of Gonzales, and Clyde Noel and wife Lisa of Breaux Bridge; his grandchildren, Clyde Noel, Jr., Byron Noel, Adrien Noel, Shanessa Noel, Vanessa Noel, Carlus Noel, Chelsa Noel, D'Anthony Noel, Brittany Noel, and Jalen Noel; 16 great grandchildren; and his sister, Shirley Zenon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert Noel and Gladys Broussard Noel; his wife, Della Noel; two brothers; and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Noel, Jr, Byron Noel, Adrien Noel, Carlus Broussard Noel, D'Anthony Noel, and Jalen Noel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roosevelt J. Noel, Sr., Clyde M. Noel, Sr., Gervis Carron, Minos Borel, Carl Detiege, Sr. and Earl Benjamin.
