New Iberia - Funeral services will be ;conducted by Fr. Ed Degeyter ;at 10 :00 a.m. , on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 , at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia , for Roosevelt John Viator, 89, who passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 in Lafayette . Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia . Roosevelt was a member of The New Iberia Farmers Market Association. He was employed by Abdallas Clothing Store for many years and was the former owner of Viator Mens Wear. ; Mr. Viator was well known for his bountiful garden and was still working his one acre garden until age 87. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Nella Dore Viator of New Iberia; his son, Steve Viator and his wife, Tina of New Iberia, his daughter, Connie Lee and her husband, Skippy of Lafayette; his brothers, Roy Viator and his wife, Mildred of Jeanerette, J. C. Viator and his wife, Ida of Jeanerette, and Ordley Viator and his wife, Hilda of New Iberia; his grandchildren whom he adored very much, Lanie Boyle, Kenzie Lee, and Haley Viator; and he was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first great grandchild, Adley Grace Boyle; his step grandchildren, Tonya Schouest, Kevin Migues, Jr., and Wesley Migues; and his step great grandchildren, Kaitlin Rouly and Nicavian Migues. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abra and Mae Blanchard Viator; his brothers, Wilson Viator, William Viator, Dudley Viator and Lloyd Viator; and his sisters, Lois Viator Romero, and Lillian Viator Vincent. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday and continue at 8 a .m. until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Steve Viator, Skippy Lee, Ronnie Broussard, Patrick Boyle, Alex Greenwald, and Bill Bratton. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Viator, J. C. Viator, Ordley Viator , Kent Viator, Tommy Dore, Warren Hulin, Jr., Kevin Migues, Jr., and Wesley Migues.
