Rosa Mae Fremin Romero

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM, on Monday, March 30, 2009, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Rosa Mae Fremin Romero, 95, who passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009 in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. The readings will be proclaimed by Warrdell Gerhart and gift bearers include Stephanie Breaux and Susan Perez. Born on June 17, 1913 in Youngsville, Mrs. Romero enjoyed sewing and shopping. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Homemakers Club, and the Monday Morning Coffee Group. Survivors include her daughters, Joy Gerhart and husband Warrdell of New Iberia, Sylvia Romero of New Iberia; son, Darryl Romero and wife Gladys of New Iberia; sister, Lucille Babineaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Stephanie Breaux, Susan Perez, Scott Romero, Emily Romero, Jennifer Veltsos, and Sarah Sherrill; 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Romero; a son, Ernie Paul Romero; her parents, Sentney and Ella Ozenne Fremin; and a brother, Sidney Fremin. Pallbearers will be Darryl Romero, Warrdell Gerhart, Scott Romero, Jon Breaux, Harry Smith, III, and Baron Babineaux. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday.
