New Iberia ;- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 PM, on Monday, March 30, 2009, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Rosa Mae Fremin Romero, 95, who passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2009 in New Iberia. ; Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. ; Rev. Charles Langlois will be the Celebrant. The readings will be proclaimed by Warrdell Gerhart and gift bearers include Stephanie Breaux and Susan Perez. ; Born on June 17, 1913 in Youngsville, Mrs. Romero enjoyed sewing and shopping. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, the Homemakers Club, and the Monday Morning Coffee Group. ; Survivors include her daughters, Joy Gerhart and husband Warrdell of New Iberia, Sylvia Romero of New Iberia; son, Darryl Romero and wife Gladys of New Iberia; sister, Lucille Babineaux of New Iberia; grandchildren, Stephanie Breaux, Susan Perez, Scott Romero, Emily Romero, Jennifer Veltsos, and Sarah Sherrill; ;6 great grandchildren. ; She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Romero; a son, Ernie Paul Romero; her parents, Sentney and Ella Ozenne Fremin; and a brother, Sidney Fremin. ; Pallbearers will be Darryl Romero, Warrdell Gerhart, Scott Romero, Jon Breaux, Harry Smith, III, and Baron Babineaux. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Sunday.
