Rosalind Savoie Dartez

New Iberia A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 6, 2014 at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for Rosalind Savoie Dartez, 74, who died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 in New Iberia. Interment will be at a later date. Rev. William Blanda will be the Celebrant. Gift Bearers will be Caleb Dartez and Charlie Dartez. Scriptures will be read by Nicolette Nikki Downey and Candace Candie Oubre. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 9:30 AM. Mrs. Dartez was born on March 16, 1940 to Ferdinand Savoie and Jean-Louise Curtis. A member of Xi Omega Sorority, she cherished moments spent with the members in the sorority. Mrs. Dartez had many different occupations throughout her life including; a belly dance instructor, clothing sales consultant, and teaching piano lessons for 25 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially for her favorite holiday Thanksgiving. Survivors include her children, Joey Dartez and wife Monique, Marshall Dartez and wife Marlene, Bridgette Dartez Cunniff and husband Shawn, Christine Dartez and companion Chad Robicheaux and Lance Dartez and wife Lori; brothers, Tilden Savoie and Peter Savoie and wife Dee; grandchildren, Nicolette Nikki Downey, Hunter Dartez, Kennedi Schaubert, Caleb Dartez, Charlie Dartez and Sam Dartez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ferdinand Savoie and Jean-Louise Curtis. Pallbearers will be Lance Dartez, Joey Dartez, Marshall Dartez, Hunter Dartez, Shawn Cunniff and Chad Robicheaux. Tilden Savoie and Peter Savoie will serve as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital, PO Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38101.
