St. Martinville - Rose Mary Alexander, 60 years of age passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 approximately 3:55am at her residence, after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Adam (Pa Pop) Alexander and Anna Belle Phillips Johnson. Rose Mary was a native of Parks, LA before residing her final years in St Martinville. Rose was popular in local areas for her tasty homemade boudin, mouthwatering chess pies and all sorts of pies your heart would desire. She loved listening to her oldies but goodies music. She was known for her loving and caring heart to everyone she met. Her smile would light up a room. She will be truly missed.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her children, Dwayne Alexander, Vachel Alexander (James), Rachel Rhine (Wilbert) all of St. Martinville. Her loving grandchildren, Daija Alexander, Tyja Alexander, Breona Alexander and Jy'Ron Rhine, all of St Martinville; along with several aunts, uncles and other relatives. Rose will be sadly missed by everyone.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Adam (Pa Pop) Alexander and Anna Belle Phillips Johnson; granddaughter Armoni Rhine.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday.
Fr. Augustinus Seran will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Saint Martinville.
Pallbearers will be Curtis Joseph, James Joseph, MaCarry Benjamin, Wilbert Rhine, Terry Delahoussaye, Dennis Menard, Kenneth Joseph, and Peter Hypolite.
Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Alexander, Dwayne Alexander, Shedrick Alexander, Leroy Phillips, Ronald Lewis, Brett Alexander, Ricky Delahoussaye, Lennis Phillips, Sr., and Lennis Phillips, Jr.
