Rose Mary Berard Alexander

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Rose Mary Berard Alexander, 76, who passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 am until 10:45 am on Saturday, at Notre Dame Catholic Church. A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Saturday. Fr. Stanley Jawa will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by DaMarcus Ledet and Aletha Jacobs. Gift Bearers will be Alaya Jacobs, Shayla Alfred, Stejon Thornton, and Azelin Greene. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Rose enjoyed trips to the casino, traveling, and using her computer. She was a foster grandparent and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Denise Payne and husband, Clifford,Sr., and Elaine Hawkins; four sons, James Alexander, Jr. and wife, Lisa, Dennis Alexander and wife, Yuderja Suarez, Samuel Alexander and wife, Stephanie, and Paul Alexander; her brother, Anthony Berard, Jr.; her sister, Cora Lee Jacobs; and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony Berard, Sr. and Lillian Gardner Berard; her sister, Delores Ambrose; and two brothers, Willis Drake, Sr. and Charles Ambrose, Sr. Pallbearers will be Demarkis Ledet, Terrence Ambrose, Treston Jacobs, Trey Berard, Calden Francis, Jr., and Justin Kately Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be James Alexander Jr., Dennis Alexander, Samuel Alexander, Paul Alexander, Clifford Payne, Sr., Clifford Payne, Jr., Winfield Ledet, Anthony Berard Jr., Bryson Hawkins, Quinton Greene, Troy Greene, Demarkis Greene, and Chris Jacobs, Sr. Pellerin Funeral Home, (337-332-2111), is in charge of arrangements.
