Mrs. Boudreaux, known to many as Taunte Rose, worked at Heymann's Department Store for 40 years. Her love for people led to her job at Gary Memorial Hospital where she cooked for the patients and staff, who always looked forward to her home cooking. Taunte Rose enjoyed the holiday season most of all, so that she could prepare her family favorites, fudge, red velvet cake, and pralines, which she shared with everyone. She also enjoyed sewing; she had a special talent for creating wedding gowns and many other garments, including doll clothes. She looked forward to her outings with her friends, especially the casino.
