St. Martinville - Saint Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Rose Mae Mallery Francis, 85, who passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Iberia Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church from 7:00 am until 10:45 am on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am. Rev. Stanley Jawa will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Saint Martinville. Mrs. Francis was a lifelong parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and St. John Benevolent Society. She enjoyed singing and loved cooking and feeding people - always making sure that everyone left her home full of their favorite food. She is survived by four sons, Johnny (Patricia) Francis Jr. of Saint Martinville, Calvin (Mary) Francis of New Orleans, Patrick Francis of St. Martinville, and Gary (Cissy) Francis of Hawaii; four daughters, Stella (Earl) Johnson of New Orleans, Debra Maneau of Texas City, TX, Gale (Andrew) Anderson of North Carolina, and Stephaine (Andrew) Batiste of Texas; a step daughter, Liza Jones of Missouri; three brothers, George Mallery of St. Martinville, Zervin Mallery of Lafayette, and Warren (Donna) Mallery of New Iberia; seven sisters, Lillie Mae Martin, Melvina Wiltz, Augustine Morris, Antoinette Francis, and Mary Ann Wiltz, all of St. Martinville, Flora Bell Mallery of California, and Rita Mae Johnson of New Orleans; 57 grandchildren and 80 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Ophelia Dauphine Mallery; her husband, Johnny Francis Sr.; a son and daughter; and several brothers and sisters.
