St.Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Rose Mae Williams Harrison, 77, who passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Iberia Medical Center.
Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Saint Martinville.
Mrs. Harrison was retired from the St. Martin Parish school system, where she taught for almost 30 years and was a lifelong parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. She was an avid sports fan, especially golf and tennis, and in her free time she loved to travel and play Bingo. Rose was a wonderful cook and particularly loved cooking for her family and treasured the many times she could spend with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimya Cruz and husband, John, of New Iberia, Tanya Harrison of Saint Martinville; her son, Kelton Harrison and wife, Sonja of Breaux Bridge; her brother, Octave Williams of Saint Martinville; and seven grandchildren, Kyron, Kylar and Ethan Harrison, Logan and Tanner Harrison, and Korie Hill and Bethany Cruz.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Garland Harrison; her son, Dexter Harrison; her parents, Sam and Fabiola Wiltz Williams; six brothers, Leonard, Gilbert, Clarence, Sam 'Lou', Alton, and Wendall Williams; and three sisters, Agnes Williams, Adeline Williams Mallery, and Audrey Williams Malveaux.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Notre Dame Catholic Church on Friday, March 23, 2012, from 7:00 am until 10:45 am.
A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am Friday.
