Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 3, 2006, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula for Rose Ann Thibodeaux Theriot, 62, who died Saturday, July 1, 2006 at her residence.
Interment will be in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Deacon Bergeron will conduct the funeral service.
Rose was born and raised in Breaux Bridge, where she attended St. Bernard Catholic School and graduated from Breaux Bridge Senior High School. She married her husband, Allen, on September 8, 1962 and was a resident of Catahoula for the past 44 years. Rose worked as an Administrative and Service Representative for the Social Security Administration for 20 years, and retired on July 26, 2001. She was a parishioner of St. Rita's Catholic Church and was an active member of the Altar Society and served on the Church Fair Committee. She was a member of the Catahoula Mardi Gras Carnival, the Farm Bureau Women's Committee, and was also a Cub Scout, Scout Master. Rose loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, and will sadly be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Allen Theriot of Catahoula; three sons, Michael Jody Theriot and his wife, Nanette Hulin Theriot, Robert Keith "CEDO" Theriot and his wife, Miriam Dupuis Theriot, all of Catahoula, and Jake Anthony Theriot and his fiance, Heidi Broussard of Carencro; her sister, Ruby Josey of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Brook, Brielle, Layne Theriot, and Sean Champagne; and her best friend, Carolyn "Sue" Theriot.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dan Thibodeaux; and her mother, Theresa Berard Champagne; and her step-father, Maurice Champagne.
The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 8:00 a.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2006 and continue at 7:00 a.m. Monday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm, Sunday.
Pallbearers will be her three sons, Jody, Keith, and Jake Theriot, Brook Theriot, Luke Theriot, Jamie Courville, Layne Theriot, and Sean Champagne.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana and to all of the family and friends for their support and love.
