St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006, at West End Bibleway Christian Fellowship Church, 808 Walton St., New Iberia, LA for Roxie Marie ""Pinky"" Bourda, 42, who died Wednesday, July 5, 2006 at her residence. Interment will be in Union Baptist Cemetery in St. Martinville. Pastor Francis Davis, will conduct the service. Ms. Bourda was a graduate of U.L. of Lafayette in nursing and of Louisiana Technical College. ?She served as a nursing instructor at the Louisiana Technical College at the St. Martinville campus and was employed by Lafayette General Hospital and LHC Group of Lafayette. ?She was an honorary member of Alpha Phi Omega Chapter, Chi Nu of Grambling State University, a former member of the Eastern Star in St. Martinville, and an active member of spiritual leadership in several areas. ??She served as the Secretary of the Black Heritage Band. Survivors include her mother, Melia Bourda Hamilton; one son, Samuel Zaccheus ""Duckie"" Bourda; one brother, Jonas De Marcus Hamilton, all of St. Martinville; one sister, Lisa Ann Bourda ""Fat"" Johnson of St. Martinville; five uncles, Daniel Hamilton and his wife, Delores, Lennet Hamilton and his wife, Peggy, Nolton Hamilton, Sr., all of Lafayette, Roger Hamilton and his wife, Carmen, and Nolan Hamilton, Sr., all of New Iberia; three aunts, Lorena Eggleston and her husband, Willie of Indiana, Mary Domingue of Lafayette, and Viola Champ and her husband, Harold of Houston, TX. She was preceded in death by her daughter, De'Jah Elizabeth; her father, Wilson Bourda; her maternal grandparents, Samuel and Mildred Simon Hamilton; her paternal grandparents, Antoine and Olivia George Bourda; her aunts, Lillian Abraham, Lena Francis, Celestine Bourda, and Etta Ramona Hamilton; her uncle, Minus Bourda; and her step uncle, Antoine Clifton Joseph. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 p.m. ~ 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2006 at Pellerin Funeral Home, 112 New Market St, St. Martinville, LA and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at West End Bibleway Christian Fellowship Church, 808 Walton St., New Iberia, LA until time of service. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Chad J. Johnson and Ronald J. Johnson, Jr.; cousins, ?Lennet Greg Hamilton, Jr., Ezekiel Hamilton, Roger Hamilton, Jr., and friend, Joshua Wiltz. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Hamilton, Lennet Hamilton, Sr., Roger Hamilton, Sr., Nolan Hamilton, Sr., Nolton Hamilton, Sr.; cousins, Nolan Hamilton, Jr. and Nolton Hamilton, Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements.
