Roy P. Bob, Sr.

Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Roy Paul "Shoon" Bob, Sr. Interment will follow at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Cecilia. Father Aaron Melancon will officiate at the funeral Mass. Roy was born on July 11, 1953 to the late Corita Amos Bob and the late Joseph Bob, Sr. Roy made his departure on Friday, February 13, 2009 at his residence, at the age of 55, after a courageous battle with throat cancer. Survivors include his children's mother, Barbara Walker, of Breaux Bridge; three daughters, Matrice Domingue (Michael), of Duson, Shantell Briscoe (John), of Carencro, and Amy Bob (Corey), of Breaux Bridge; two sons, Roy Bob, Jr. (Cynthia), of Webster, TX, and Travis Bob, Sr. (Felicia), of Lamarque, TX; one sister, Mary Bob, of Breaux Bridge; three brothers, Joseph Bob, Jr., of Cecilia, Alton Bob, of Beaumont, TX, and Lawrence Bob, of Houston, TX; two aunts, Irene Woods and Alice Davis, of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Corita Amos Bob and Joseph Bob, Sr.; four brothers, Milton, Russell, Adam and Larry Bob, Sr.; and one sister, Shirley Lucas. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 7 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Bob, Paul Bob, Nick Calais, Charles Wiltz, Jr., Joseph Wiltz, Jr., Craig Walker, Mervin Henry, Jr., and Antonio Pulliam. The family would like to give special thanks to everyone who assisted in Roy's care: Dr. Prelop and staff at Oncologics, Dr. Bame, Dr. Roblais, and nurse, Dwanna Clay, at U.M.C.; Hospice of Acadiana: Doris, Margaret, Linda Washington and Vanessa Jean Louis; Miles Peret and Father Peter Emusa. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
