Jeanerette - Private services will be held at a later date for Roy Joseph Derouen, Sr., 72, who passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015, in Jeanerette. Roy was born on October 14, 1942 in Patoutville to Lionel Derouen, Sr., and Anita Bonin Derouen. A retired welder, he enjoyed going to the camp, hunting, fishing, reading, and watching reality TV shows. Roy loved all of his children and grandchildren, and spoke very highly them.. Survivors include his sons,Wayne Derouen and wife Cheri of New Iberia, Kim Derouen and wife Nellie of Jeanerette, Dean Derouen and wife Dana of New Iberia, Roy Derouen, Jr. of Jeanerette; brothers, Raymond Derouen of Jeanerette, Herman Derouen of Jeanerette, Lionel Derouen, Jr. and wife Lemona of Patoutville, Amos Derouen of Lydia; sisters, Emily Breaux of New Iberia, , Anita Charpentier and husband Terry of New Iberia; 10 Grandchildren; and 5 Great Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chris Derouen; sisters, Elsie Rivet, Gercie Hebert, brother, Ulysses Derouen, sisters-in-law, Delores Derouen, Bobbie Derouen, brothers-in-law, Joseph "Joe" Breaux, J.C. Hebert; nieces, Peggy Hebert, Maxine Chase, Stephanie Roger; nephew, Keith Derouen.
