St. Martinville - A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville for Roy James Latiolais, 70, who passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday and continue on Tuesday at 8:00 am until the time of service.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday.
Rev. Bill Melancon will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Roy was a board member of LASUCA, as well as the most tenure member of the Parks Cracklin Association. He spent his whole life working as a sugarcane farmer and was very proud. Roy enjoyed traveling to different islands and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Latiolais (Toby) LeBlanc and Tonya F. Latiolais; son, Shane (Jennifer) Latiolais; grandchildren, Brandi (Jeremy) Daigle, Dustin (Rebecca) Daigle, Logan Latiolais and Wyatt Lohman; great-grandchildren, Baylor Leger and Oliver Daigle; mother of his children, Beverly Latiolais; his long-time companion, Violet Reed and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; fur baby, Muffy; sister, Linda (Tommy) Borel; brothers, Chris (Marlene) Latiolais, Fred (Cheryl) Latiolais and LJ (Connie) Latiolais.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Enoland Vicknair Latiolais; grandchild, Madison Latiolais; sister, Joan Latiolais; and brother, Lonnie Latiolais.
