Ruben "Pop" Guillory

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Notre Dame Catholic Church for Ruben "Pop" Guillory, 101, who passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022. 

The family requests visiting hours be observed at the Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville from 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday, July 30, 2022. 

A rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM on Saturday.

Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.

Ruben, better known as "Pop", was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Notre Dame Catholic Church. He was employed by M & C Contractors for over 50 years as a dump truck operator. Ruben enjoyed gardening, Zydeco music, and watching the news and wrestling. Above all, he loved his children, grandchildren, family, and friends. He will be remembered as a people person, who never met a stranger. Ruben will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his sons, Rubin J. Guillory (Jeanette) and Alvin Dale Guillory (Angella); daughters, Zana Fontenette, Gwendolyn Louis (Ronald), and Cynthia Curley (Patrick); 12 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ella Guillory; parents, Telesma Guillory and Victoria Flugence Guillory; brothers, Zerben Guillory, Dewey Guillory, and Albert Guillory, Sr.; and sisters, Alberta Jack, Olivia Godine, Lona Castille, and Cora Perrodin.

Pallbearers will be Adrien Guillory, Troy Anthony Louis, Tyrone Paul Louis, Konner Judice, Jarvis Fontenette, and Zachary Guillory.
