Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 16, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Ruby Mae Abraham Celestine, 70, who passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2008.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Rev. Fr. James Fallon, Pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. ?Readers will be Michael Landry and Lashae Celestine.
Ruby was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. ?She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, spending time with her family, and praying the rosary for those in need of prayer.
Survivors include two sons, Norris Celestine, Jr. and Horace Celestine, both of Breaux Bridge; four daughters, Nancy Jo Celestine, of Houston, TX, Nancy Jean Alexander, Agnes Marie Celestine, and Paula Ann Chester, all of Breaux Bridge; her mother, Eula Mae D. Abraham, of Breaux Bridge; two brothers, Earl Abraham, of Breaux Bridge and Milton Abraham, of Houston, TX; and 17 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Celestine, Sr.; her father, Clarence Abraham; and one brother, Dalton Abraham.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 7 a.m. on Monday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Horace Celestine, Harold Abraham, James Abraham, Dalton Abraham, Jr., Lawrence Abraham, James Lilly, and Lionel Abraham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Chester, Norris Alexander, Norris Celestine, James ""Anthony"" Abraham, and Clarence Abraham.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Carver & Dauterive Street Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
