Ruby Badon Segura

New Iberia Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Ruby Badon Segura, 88, who died on Friday, October 10, 2014 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Beau Pre Cemetery. Rev. Scott Bullock will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, in New Iberia. Mrs. Segura was born on January 24, 1926 to Robert J. Badon and Ruby Gutekunst Badon. She worked as a Supervisor of Elementary Education for the Iberia Parish School Board, and was a member of the Kappa Kappa Iota, and Delta Kappa Gamma. Mrs. Segura was a volunteer at the Shadows of the Tech, the Bayou Teche Museum, and Dauterive Hospital Auxiliary. Her hobbies included traveling and being a professional volunteer. Survivors include her son, Robert L. Segura and wife Fran of New Iberia; grandchildren, Robert Segura, Jr. and wife Jolene of New Iberia, Lauren S. Migues and husband Shane of New Iberia; a great grandson, Jonathan Segura. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Cook Segura; and a brother, Robert Badon, Jr. Pallbearers will be Robert Segura, Jr., Shane Migues, Buster Beaullieu, Floyd Curry, Billy Gesser, and Dr. Hank Largarde. Memorial contributions may be made to ths Bayou Teche Museum, Shadows on the Teche, or to the charity of your choice.
