Breaux Bridge Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 pm, on Monday, June 22, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge for Rudolph Joseph R. J. Mouton, 91, who passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm on Monday. A rosary will be prayed at 1:30 pm on Monday.
Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Mouton was a veteran of World War II, honorably serving his country in the United States Army from 1943 - 1946. He attained the rank of Sgt. T-4 with the 739th Tank Battalion while serving in Europe and was a tank commander in the Battle of the Bulge. He was retired from Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as a dispatcher.
He is survived by his caretaker, Merna Rabeaux and her husband, Michael Rabeaux of St. Martinville; and his brother, Michael Mouton of Lake, Mississippi.
He is preceded in death by his father, Maurice Mouton, Sr.; his mother, Lucy M. Mouton; his wife, Lorita Albert Mouton; his sister, Aline Degeyter Broussard; his brothers, Leonard, Joseph, Maurice, Jr., Anthony, P.J. and Amilcar Mouton.
Pallbearers will be Michael Rabeaux, John Keith Rodriguez, John Carroll Albert, Charlie Albert, Brain Albert and Fabian "Rene" Rodriguez.
Honorary pallbearer will be Michael Mouton.
