St. Martinville - Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm, on Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Russell Joseph Landry, 77, who passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at Camelot of Broussard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 24, 2013. A rosary will be recited at 12:00 pm on Wednesday. Rev. Rusty P. Richard, pastor of St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Hart Littell and Dixie Gaspard. Gift Bearers will be Erika Littell, Kristen Colvin and Dusti Bertrand. Inurnment will be at a later date at St. Michael Mausoleum in Saint Martinville. Prior to his retirement as Major with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, he was owner and operator of Landrys Pepper Company, a fifth generation business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and especially playing bouree. He loved his numerous house boat projects and we can envision him now on some big beautiful lake enjoying a sunset. He will be remembered for his love of politics, good friends, and family. His positive attitude was unsurpassed. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughters, Ann Lamar Bertrand and her husband, Toby and Elizabeth Lark Colvin and her husband, Patrick; his brothers, Calvin Landry and Alfred T. (Debbie) Landry, Jr.; his sisters, Elaine (Ward) Breaux, and Delores (Russell) Romero; his grandchildren, Dylan (Tiffany) Bertrand, Dusti Bertrand, Dixie (Eric) Gaspard, Erika (Hart) Littell, and Kristen Colvin; and his great-grandchildren, Alex Bertrand, Ahni Bertrand, Bernard Littell, and Grace Littell. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanelle Guidry Landry; his father, Alfred Thomas Landry, Sr.; and his mother, Lucille Babin Landry. Pallbearers will be Toby Bertrand, Dylan Bertrand, Patrick Colvin, Calvin Landry, Alfred "Al" Landry, Jr., Bronson Breaux, and Tommy Romero.
