Russell John Myers

New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Russell John Myers, 67, who passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his family and friends. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Born on October 2, 1941, Mr. Myers was retired from Carbo Ceramics and was the owner of Myers Aluminum Screens. A veteran of the US Army, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Myers of Coteau; daughters, Michelle Myers Babineaux and husband Robert of New Iberia, Stacey Myers Simon and Chad of Carbondale, Colorado; mother, Mazel Myers of Coteau; mother-in-law, Mildred Chauvin of New Iberia; brothers, Jim Myers of Coteau, Francis Myers and wife Peggy of Coteau; sisters, Jenny Menard and husband Wilson "Sonny" of Coteau, Judy M. Romero and husband Ronald of New Iberia; grandchildren, Alex Babineaux, Millie Simon, and Zoe Simon, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by father, Claude Myers, mother, Rena Landry, brother, Johnny Myers; father-in-law, Beldon Chauvin; sister-in-laws, Ruth Myers, and Gladys Myers; niece, Christy Lee Myers, and great nephew, Chance Gary. Pallbearers will be Robert Babineaux, Chad Simon, Bryan "Bubba" Aucoin, Rusty Dautreuil, Johnny "Beanie" Myers, Jr., and Jim Myers. Honorary Pallbearers include Dean Burley, Bryan Aucoin, II, Bradly Burley, Jason Dautreuil, and Tristan Copell. The family would like to give special thanks to St. Joseph Hospice. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Tuesday.
