New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia, for Russell Joseph Pellerin, 64, who passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015, in New Iberia.
Rev. Garrett Savoie will be the Celebrant
Interment will follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Coteau.
A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 AM until 10:30 AM.
Russell was born on March 11, 1950 to Jules Pellerin, Sr., and Louise Viator Pellerin. He enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, and taking care of his chickens.
He is survived by his three brothers, Gilbert Pellerin and wife Deborah of Scott, Jules Pellerin, Jr. of Catahoula, Perry Pellerin and wife Chryl, Sr. of New Iberia; sister, Jeanell Boudreaux and husband Darrel of Lydia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward J. Pellerin, and Rockney J. Pellerin.
Pallbearers will be Gilbert Pellerin Sr., Dwayne Pellerin, Darrell Boudreaux, Perry Pellerin Jr., Justin Decuir, and Mitchell Pellerin.
