VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Russell Joseph Robin, 77, who passed away on Monday, January 26, 2009 at his residence. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Fr. Paul Broussard will be officiating at the funeral Mass. Readers will be Felice and Eleanor Serrett and the gift bearers will be Ross and Michael Robin. Mr. Robin was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was an offshore boat captain with an unlimited tonage license for all waters. He was a member of the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association and the A.L.S. Association. Russell enjoyed camping, horseracing, dancing, family gatherings, and making the love of his life, Mary, very happy. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Huval Robin, of Cecilia; two sons, Mickey (Meko) Robin and his wife, Carla Frederick Robin, and Neil James Robin and his wife, Kari Serrette Robin, all of Cecilia; two daughters, Paula Robin Serrett and Randal Serrett, of Breaux Bridge, and Arlene Robin Ramphrey and her husband, George, of Mesquite, TX; his brother, Joseph Wilson Robin, of Arnaudville; his grandchildren, Beau Robin, Alexandra Robin, Derek Robin, Ross Robin, Michael Robin, Felice Serrett, Eleanor Serrett, and Zachary Ramphrey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mickier and Alma Latiolais Robin; and his brother, Edrick Robin. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana, the A.L.S. Foundation, especially Dora, Marella Theriot, who was his Eucharistic Minister, Deacon Jim Davis, and all of his family and friends for the constant care and support given to him. Pallbearers will be Neil, Beau, Derek, and Wilson Robin, George Ramphrey, and Zachary Ramphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Meko, Ross and Michael Robin, and Jim Hebert. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements. .
