Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6,, 2006, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula for Russell Theriot, 75, who died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. The readers for the funeral mass will be Patsy Angelle and Adley Douet; gift bearers will be Jackie Boudreaux, Braelyn Theriot and Heather Theriot. Mr. Theriot enjoyed commercial fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Yuline Theriot; his son, Steve Theriot and his wife, Gayle; his daughters, Priscilla T. Bernis and her husband, Willie "Pookie", and Angela Couvillion and her husband, John, all of Catahoula; his brother, Jerry Theriot of Catahoula; his sisters, Betty Mason, Jo Ann Oliver, both of Catahoula and Peggy Verret of Abbeville; his grandchildren, Shawn Jetton, Tricia Courville, Heather Theriot, Justin and Brittney Couvillion; and his great grandchildren, Destiny Thompson and Braelyn Theriot. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pauline Bourque Theriot; and his brothers, Jimmy and Tano Theriot. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Dion Hall in Catahoula and continue until time of service on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Steve Theriot, John Couvillion, Shawn Jetton, Pookie Bernis, Justin Couvillion, and Jude Guidry.
