VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Monday, April 20, 2009, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Russell Charles "Bill" Thomassee, 72, who passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at his residence. Entombment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum No. 1 in Breaux Bridge. Father Allen Breaux will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Cheryl T. Guidry. Gift bearers will be his grandchildren, Zachary, Emily, and Colin. Bill was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from June 2, 1954 to September 14, 1961. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Pelba Hunting Club. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed cooking, gardening, woodworking, and most especially, making people laugh. Survivors include his daughter, Michelle T. Domingues and her husband, Paul, of Breaux Bridge; his step mother, Lorna D. Thomassee, of Cecilia; two sisters, Frances Elaine Thomassee, of Cecilia, and Jacqueline T. Dauphine and her husband, Donald, of Breaux Bridge; four step sisters, Linda T. Guidry and her husband, Harold, Cheryl T. Guidry and her husband, Cernal, all of Cecilia, Drucilla T. Chauffe and her husband, Thomas, of Birmingham, AL, and Lucette T. Vincent and her husband, Oren, of Carencro; two step brothers, Frank Thomassee, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Texas, and Bryant "Noonie" Thomassee and his wife, Corrine, of Cecilia; his son-in-law, Matthew Lancon of Breaux Bridge; and three grandchildren, Zachary C. Lancon, Emily Lancon, and Colin M. Domingues. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Ann Patin Thomassee; a daughter, Leslie T. Lancon; his parents, Frank Thomassee, Sr. and Mary Melba Hebert Thomassee; and two grandchildren, Mascie A. and Billy E. Domingues. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday and continue at 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening. Pallbearers will be Zachary Lancon, Colin Domingues, Bryant Thomassee, Frank Thomassee, Jr., Paul Domingues, and Matthew Lancon. Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
