Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, June 4, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge for Russell John Vincent, Sr., 80, who passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2018, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday by Sr. Ameline Theriot.
Fr. Austin Leger will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Holy Scripture will be read by Trevor Vincent. Gift Bearers will be Katelyn Boudreaux, Ansley Vincent, and Darien Vincent.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Mr. Vincent was born on May 17, 1938 to the late Willie Vincent and Effie Vincent Devillier. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served our country honorably. Russell made his living working in the oil industry and Lafayette Parish Sheriffs Department. He enjoyed fishing, playing guitar, and singing during jam sessions with family and friends. He was known to many as a great mechanic and "Jack-of-all-trades".
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ella Mae Borel Vincent of Parks; sons, Corin Vincent and wife Rachael of Youngsville, Timothy Vincent and wife Donna of Broussard, and Russell J. Vincent, Jr. and companion, Adria Douet of Parks; daughters, Sharon "Sherry" Vincent Lanclos and husband Mark of Parks and Desiree' Vincent Boudreaux and husband Matt of Lafayette; brothers, Carl Vincent and wife Shirley of Lafayette, Winston Vincent and wife Jean of Moulton, AL, Manfred Vincent of Church Point, and Ed Devillier and wife Maureen of Breaux Bridge; and his grandchildren, Hillary Vincent of Clarksville, TN, Trevor Vincent of Youngsville, Andre' Vincent of Broussard, Austin Vincent of Broussard, Ansley Vincent of Broussard, Michael Vincent of Parks, Darien Vincent of Parks, Parker Lanclos of Parks, Katelyn Boudreaux of Lafayette and Claire Boudreaux of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Vincent; mother, Effie Vincent Devillier; stepfather, Edwin Devillier; brother, Belson Vincent; and sisters, Marydell Vincent Trahan, Ann Devillier, and Melba Vincent Patin.
Pallbearers will be Trevor Vincent, Andre' Vincent, Austin Vincent, Michael Vincent, Matt Boudreaux, and Mark Lanclos.
Honorary pallbearer will be Parker Lanclos.
