Ruth Gaspard

March 31, 1953 ~ August 25, 2014 Loving Wife, Mother, and Grandmother New Iberia Services for Mrs. John Ronald Gaspard, the former Ruth Maturin, 61, will be conducted at 11:00 am, on Thursday, August 28, 2014, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, with Pastor Gerald Heard officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Wednesday and continue at 8:00 am until 10:45 am on Thursday, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A native of New Iberia, Mrs. Gaspard died at 5:32 pm, Monday, August 25, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Gaspard was employed with Martin Mills and Gachassin, Inc. for numerous years. She loved sewing, camping, researching genealogy, gardening, scrap booking, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 26 years, John Gaspard; three sons, Richard Flores and wife, Giselle, of New Iberia, Willis Flores and wife, Crystal, of New Iberia, and Eric Gaspard and wife, Dixie, of Youngsville; two step- children, Brant Gaspard and Marla Gaspard of Texas; her brother, Willis "Buddy" Maturin; sisters, Susie Maturin, Alice Bouillion, and Nancy Picard; her loving grandchildren who she adored, Kelsie, Krislyn, Bryce, and Tyler Flores; her fur grandchildren, Maxie and Miley Gaspard; four step grandchildren, Brehnan, Isaac, Colton, and Jordan Gaspard; and one step great granddaughter, Bethany, of Texas. She will also be missed by her loving best friend, Cindy Leleux and her little fur babies, Rosie and Meenu. Mrs. Gaspard is preceded in death by her parents, Rena Blanchard and Willis Maturin; her brother, Billy Maturin; sister, Anna Maturin; and step daughter-in-law, Chasity Gaspard. Pallbearers will be Chad Maturin, Gordy Maturin, Bobby Maturin, Phillip Broussard, Joshua Sonnier, and Shannon Hayes. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Flores, Willis Flores, Eric Gaspard, Bryce Flores, Tyler Flores, and Buddy Maturin. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the family for burial expenses.
