Sally Peltier Primeaux LeCamus was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on June 9, 1937, to the late Otto and Lula LeBeouf Peltier. She dedicated many years of her life as a cafeteria manager with the Iberia Parish School System. Her service extended beyond simply providing nourishment for the students; she brought joy and warmth to their days with her heartfelt care and delicious meals.
An unwavering pillar of faith, Sally was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. She found solace within its walls and drew strength from the community that surrounded her.
Outside of work and church, Sally's heart belonged to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who cherished the time spent with her loved ones above all else. Sally reveled in watching her grandchildren engage in sports activities, singing and dancing; she was their biggest cheerleader from the sidelines. Her pride in their accomplishments knew no bounds.
Not only did Sally pour love into her family's hearts, but she also delighted them with culinary creations that will never be forgotten. Her talent as an amazing cook shone brightly with every dish she prepared. Sally also found pleasure in playing cards. Whether it was a competitive game night or a casual gathering with friends, she relished these opportunities for laughter and friendly rivalry.
Mrs. LeCamus is survived by her children, Paulette Primeaux Arceneaux (Keith), Patsy Primeaux, Albert Primeaux (Cassie), Donovan Primeaux (Donna), Eric Primeaux (Sandy), and Kevin LeCamus (Marlo); siblings, Thelma Lopez, Forest Peltier (Sue), Margie Blankenship, and Mary Jane Dorsey (Eddie); her best friend, Ruby Dorsey; 18 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren with one on the way.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Hilton Primeaux and Shelton LeCamus; son, Tommy Primeaux; grandchildren, Jude Frederick and Kassie Primeaux; great-great-grandson, Ezra Ronsonet; and daughter-in-law, Bridget Primeaux.
Pallbearers are Dustin Primeaux, Chasse Primeaux, Hilton Primeaux, Robert Primeaux, Kenny and Cody Stansbury, Braden Primeaux, and Jace LeCamus.
Honorary pallbearers are Forest Peltier, Eddie Dorsey, Jeremy Frank and Camden Frank.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Heart of Hospice, especially nurse Gabby Viator; and the staff of New Iberia Manor North, especially Darlene, Dianna, and her CNAs, Kathy and Lakayra, for extraordinary care and compassion.
May Sally LeCamus rest in eternal peace, her memory forever engrained within our hearts. Her generosity, kindness, and unwavering faith will continue to guide and inspire us all.
