Sandi was born in New Iberia, Louisiana on December 8, 1960, to the late Ray Allen and Jeanette “Mama Jean” Duhon Bonin.
For many years, Sandi held the position of manager at Sugarland Credit, where she dedicated herself to supporting her colleagues and customers with unwavering commitment. With her upcoming retirement scheduled for December, she looked forward to new adventures but remained ever-passionate about her work and the relationships she had built throughout her career.
But it was the role of grandmother that Sandi truly found her greatest joy. She lived for her grandchildren, devoting countless hours to making memories and nurturing their spirits. Sandi cherished every moment spent with them, reveling in their laughter and sharing in their dreams. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, filling her days with laughter and love.
Sandi was a vibrant soul who enjoyed the company of her friends. She found delight in simple pleasures: cozy nights spent watching Netflix, spontaneous shopping trips, and the infectious rhythms of K-Pop music that always brought a smile to her face. Her personality radiated positivity, inviting those around her to share in her joy for life.
Mrs. East is survived by her loving husband, John East; sons, Ryan East (Kami Armentor) and Shaney East; siblings, Louise “Do” Bonin (KB), Wanda Rose (Darcy) of Oklahoma, Donna Kassube (Todd), and Dwayne “Ballou” Bonin (Billie Jo); and her beloved grandchildren, Leighton and Rowan East, Jackson and Sawyer East, and Piper Landry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Daryl Bonin.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Pam LeBlanc, Sandi's longtime best friend, for always being by Sandi's side through thick and thin. She was blessed to have you in her life.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Sandi's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with kindness and joy. She will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace.
