New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Sederic 'Tookey' Hebert, 75 who died Sunday, November 20, 2011 , in New Iberia . Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery . Rev. Mark Derise will be the Celebrant. Born on August 18, 1936 , 'Tookey' was a native and lifelong resident of New Iberia . He was a sugar cane farmer for 47 years, and was a member and stockholder of Cajun Sugar Co-Op. His hobbies included dancing, French music, watching cowboy movies, but his favorite was farming. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Elaine Segura Hebert of New Iberia; sons, Kerry Hebert and wife Tracy of New Iberia, Kent Hebert and wife Angie of New Iberia, Karl Hebert and wife Kim of New Iberia; daughter, Brenda Allen and husband Pat of Seguin, Texas; sisters, Sadie Gachassin of New Iberia, Wilda Norris and husband, L.J. of New Iberia, Bonita 'Bonnie' Boudreaux and husband Raymond of Catahoula; grandchildren, Brooks Hebert, Sheena Allen, Sheree Allen, Shawna Tousek, Joshua Allen, Ashley Allen, Hannah Allen, Kaylie Doucet, Carson Hebert, Caroline Hebert, and Ava Hebert due to arrive in early December. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lizzie Segura Hebert; and an infant sister, Lillian. Pallbearers will be Kerry Hebert, Kent Hebert, Karl Hebert, Pat Allen, Joshua Allen, Brooks Hebert, and Carson Hebert. 'Tookeys' family would like to give special thanks to his caregiver, Sheila Delahoussaye, and the staff of Heart of Hospice, for the compassion and extraordinary care that was give to him during his illness. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Monday.
