New Iberia - Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM , Friday, November 4, 2011 , at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for Shafika Marie Maturin, 33, who passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011 in New Iberia . Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery . Rev. Gerald Heard will officiate. Born on May 17, 1978 , Shafika enjoyed decorating her home, starting with hardly nothing and turning it into something nice, and spending time with her family and friends. She was loved by so many. Survivors include her mother, Maudry Boutte and husband Carroll of New Iberia; father, Allen Maturin and wife Angie of Parks; her children, Dixie Comeaux, of New Iberia, Trent Comeaux, of New Iberia, Holly Racca of Youngsville, Heather Racca of New Iberia; grandmother, Gladys Maturin of New Iberia; brothers, Allen B. Maturin and wife Sharie of New Iberia, Cody Maturin of Parks; sisters, Kelly Arceneaux and husband Donald of Parks, Lacey Suire and husband Jeremy of New Iberia, Allison Suire and husband Lloyd of New Iberia; Desiree Maturin of Parks; nieces and nephews, Ashlyn, Mariona, Daulton, Jason, Brennon, Nathan, Austin, and Layla. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ellis Maturin, Martha Creighton, and Ben Romero. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia .
