Shenny (Pop-pee) Duplechain

St Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, November 30, 2015, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St Martinville, for Shenny "Pop-pee" Duplechain, 65, who passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Rev. Rusty Richard will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St Martinville. Pop-pee enjoyed visiting with family and friends, woodworking, and cooking for everyone. He loved to tend to his garden and animals. Pop-pee loved people and was kind and genuine to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving spouse of 22 years, Vickie Dugas Duplechain; sons, Tyson Duplechain, Brook Duplechain and wife Kim, Shane Babin and wife Kerisa; daughters, Althea "Ali" Floyd and husband Joshua, Sonja Fredieu and husband James, Sandy Breaux and husband Mark; brothers, Jackie Duplechain and wife Bonnie, Lanewood Duplechain and wife Yvonne; sister, Cynthia Latiolais and husband Leroy; half-brother, Gerald Breaux; step-brother, Shane Champagne and spouse Mary; grandchildren, Kaitlin, Blake, Trent, and Ty Duplechain, Leah, Lexi, and Layla LaGrange, Reig Foti, Brodie and Justin Fredieu, Logan and Alyssa Breaux, Hylee, Haize, and Kolbe Babin; and great-granddaughter, Ashtyn Fredieu. He was preceded in death by father, Fils Duplechain, mother, Margie Dupuis, grandson, Tori Fredieu, step-mother, Gert Duplechain, half-brother, Ronald Breaux. Pallbearers will be Brook Duplechain, Shane Babin, Brodie Fredieu, Logan Breaux, Trent Duplechain, and Chris Dugas. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyson Duplechain. Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville, 112 New Market St., is in charge of arrangements
