St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11 am, on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Mallalieu United Methodist Church in St. Martinville, for Sherion Batiste Narcisse, 68, who passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in St. Martinville from 7:30 am until 10:30 am.
Pastor Robert Johnson will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Mallalieu United Methodist Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Sherion was a member of the Louisiana Teachers Association and the Mallalieu Church Choir. She loved music, art, and interior decorating.
Sherion is survived by her husband of 40 years, Melvin Joseph Narcisse of St. Martinville; two sons, Ron "Tabasco" Narcisse of Lafayette, and Nikkia Tyrone (Evelyn) Narcisse of Converse, TX; her brother, Rubin (Anna Mae) Batiste of St. Martinville; four sisters, Marietta Wallace of Ville Platte, Maydell Spears of Monroe, Earline Matthew, and Geraline Mitchell, both of St. Martinville; and two grandchildren, Deron and Amir Narcisse.
She is preceded in death by her father, Paul Jean Batiste and Maude Tyler Batiste; her brother, Russell Batiste; and two sisters, Marion Gardner and Maude Allen.
Pallbearers will be Dillon Batiste, Kevin Lindon, Jonathan Charles, Marcus Wallace, Sr., Jack Long, Jr., Reginald Matthews, and Elvin Spears.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rubin Batiste, Jr., Jonathan Mitchell, and Carl Mitchell.
