Sherman, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dedicated veteran, passed away on April 7, 2025, in Lafayette, Louisiana, and lived a life characterized by his unwavering love for family, service to his country, and passion for the great outdoors.
A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Sherman served honorably during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that shaped not only his character, but also his commitment to his community. He later became active in organizations such as the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), where he connected with fellow veterans and found camaraderie. Additionally, he was a devoted member of the R and L Hunting Club, where he shared memorable experiences with friends and family.

His passion for gardening and for feeding and watching wild birds brought him joy, and his adventurous spirit led him to participate in a televised alligator hunt, a thrilling experience that reflected his love for nature and exploration.
