Coteau - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau for Shirlene Monceaux Flores, 60 who died Thursday, October 21, 2010 in Coteau. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Barry Crochet will be the Celebrant. A native of Jennings , and a lifelong resident of Coteau, Mrs. Flores was a loving wife, mother, granny, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was a devoted caregiver to her husband who was badly burned nine years ago. Mrs. Flores also lived for her grandchildren and loved spending time taking care of her family and plants, as well as working with crafts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her beloved husband of 40 years, Jeffery Flores of Coteau; daughter, Dodie Flores Nugent and husband Tim of Coteau; son, Chad Flores of Coteau; brothers, Howard Monceaux of Lafayette, Leonard Monceaux and wife Rose of St. Martinville; sisters, Shirley Monceaux of Delcambre, Barbara Monceaux Zimmerman and husband Joe of Virginia, Joycelyn Monceaux Landry of Jeanerette; five grandchildren, Brittney Nugent, Brandi Nugent, Brock Nugent, Lance Flores, and Johnathon Flores. She was preceded in death by her parents, Molton and Eunice Istre Monceaux; brothers, James Dalton Monceaux, Wilbur Monceaux; sisters, Patricia Ann Monceaux Gass, Mary Trahan; brother-in-law, Jackie Landry; sister-in-law, Ann Monceaux. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd , in New Iberia . A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM Friday.
