Shirley Mae Poirier Champagne

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Monday, January 5, 2015, at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, for Shirley Mae Poirier Champagne, 75, who passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8:30 am until 9:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am, at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Fr. Rusty Richard will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Lorrie Poirier and Donna Lou Landry. Gift Bearers will be Janine, Jesse and Zack Flores Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Shirley enjoyed playing Pokeno, going to the casino, cooking, working in her flower beds, fishing and hunting - she admired all things that nature provided. She loved her family unconditionally and enjoyed all of their visits. She is survived by her sons, Teddy Champagne and wife, Monica, of Lafayette, and Dale Champagne and wife, Dodie, of Broussard; her brother, Darrell Poirier and wife, Dana, of Breaux Bridge; and five grandsons, Blaise, Joshua, Drake, Daylen, and Dawson Champagne. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lennis Champagne; her parents, Clovis and Yola Champagne Poirier; and her brother, Harold Paul Poirier. Pallbearers will be Teddy Champagne, Dale Champagne, Darrell Poirier, Blaise Champagne, Joshua Champagne, and Drake Champagne. Honorary pallbearers will be Daylen Champagne, Dawson Champagne, Jimmy Poirier, and David Poirier.
