Shirley Ann Chautin

Leonville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church in Leonville, for Shirley Ann Chautin, 79, who passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:30 pm until 9:00 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 7:00 am until 10:30 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Monday. Rev. Ken Domingue will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by her godchild, Darlene Melancon, and her niece, Melissa Mistrot. Gift Bearers will be Lauren Hardy and Lindsay Myers. Interment will follow at St. Leo the Great Cemetery in Leonville. Mrs. Chautin was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Shirley worked as a nurse for many years, having worked for Drs. Earl and Bobby Morrow, and Weinstein, and for St. Lukes Hospital and Home Health. Shirley never met a stranger and often expressed that the words, Kindness and Hello were made for everyone. She had a giving and caring heart and a sincere passion for taking care of people and a love for animals. As a pastime, she enjoyed traveling, reading, baking, and going dancing. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a caring friend to many. She will long be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and her genuine love for people. She is survived by her husband, John Lee Chautin of Arnaudville; her son, Dale B. Chautin and his wife, Delaine, of Arnaudville; her daughter, Neysa Savoy and her husband, Robert, of Arnaudville; her brother, Al Mistrot, Jr. and his wife, Gail, of Arnaudville; four grandchildren, Brady Chautin, Lindsay Myers, Lauren Hardy, and Bryant Savoy; and six great-grandchildren, Daniel Chautin, Camille Chautin, William Chautin, Bennett Myers, Madeline Myers, Annalyse Hardy. She is preceded in death by her son, David B. Chautin; and her parents, John Allen Mistrot, Sr. and Evelyn Artigue Mistrot. Pallbearers will be Brady Chautin, Bryant Savoy, Lance Myers, Robert Savoy, Wayne Chautin, and Josh Hardy.
