Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Breaux Bridge for Shirley Jean Morvant, 87, who passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at St. Martin Hospital. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday. Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Memorial Service. Inurnment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2. Mr. Morvant enjoyed working on many types of engines and was recognized as one who could solve problems with any type of engine - he worked in that field for 40 years and enjoyed every moment. As a pastime he enjoyed fishing, and after his retirement, you could find him building wooden swings. He is survived by his wife Marian Belaire Morvant; sons, Rickey J. Morvant and Carl J. Morvant, both of Breaux Bridge; grandchild, Crystal Morvant of Breaux Bridge; and his sister, Hazel Rouley of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Rosila Vincent Morvant; a son, James Morvant; and brothers, Willie Curley Morvant and Burley Morvant.
